Bernice Friesen appeared on CBC Radio’s Saskatchewan Weekend to chat about her newest book, Universal Disorder, and how her father’s inventiveness and sense of play inspired the novel.
Charlie is different. He’s brilliant with numbers but doesn’t always find the right words. His childhood in rural Saskatchewan is sometimes challenging…. or troubling….but it’s also full of invention and wonder. Charlie is the main character in Friesen’s new novel. She explains to host Shauna Powers how the ‘interesting brains’ in her extended family helped inspire the characters in her book.
