Freehand’s new books featured in the Calgary Herald
Rhonda Douglas’s Welcome to the Circus and Sigal Samuel’s The Mystics of Mile End are featured in the Calgary Herald, as we look forward to their appearances at the Freehand Spring Bash YYC on Friday!
The Herald also includes some kind words about Freehand: “Anyone who has followed the publisher knows that defining a typical Freehand book has become increasingly difficult. Launched in 2008 with a list that included Marina Endicott’s Giller-nominated Good to a Fault, the literary imprint has published everything from poetry to personal essays to graphic-novel memoirs to short-story collections and novels. The only real hallmarks seem to be quality and a tendency to win literary prizes.” You can read the article here, or in Thursday’s print edition.
